SEPTEMBER Both The Leaf-Chronicle (top run) and The DNJ (bottom) roll off the presses in Nashville. The papers print on the same press at the same time. The girls were all in Gypsy at the Center for the Arts, playing “child acts” in the first scene where Baby June and Louise were “discovered” in vaudeville. NOVEMBER Emily debuted as a Crucifer and Sarah was an Acolyte at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. The DNJ did a going-away parody page for Andrew. The Leaf-Chronicle made a Doughboy print (with Andrew’s face in the statue) for a going-away present. DECEMBER Emily was in Central Magnet School’s first-ever school play, “Fools,” in which she played a Russian peasant Emily performed the cello for the first time in public during Central Magnet School’s holiday concert.
