TIMBER RATTLERS CONCLUDE

2005 SEASON WITH DIVISION TITLE

Ah, our boys of summer, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, extended the season well into September by making the playoffs (bonus baseball!). But, alas, after several heroic, come-from-behind victories, they fell one game short of clinching the Midwest League crown. They took the best-of-five series all the way to Game 5, however, which made for an exciting finish and a lot of memories. And, in the process, won both Western Division crowns (first half and second half)  Here’s a look back at the season:

·         Emily was The P-C’s spokesmodel for its annual “Hang with Fang” reader contest. This photo was in several P-C ads.

·         Sarah, who followed Emily to the above shoot, also wanted her picture taken. Note she’s wearing a winter coat (there was snow on the ground when the shot was taken).

·         Andrew played (poorly) in a golf tournament this year with Rattlers Pitching Coach Brad Holman, Rattlers star relief pitcher Jon Lockwood and P-C Rattlers beat reporter Brett Christopherson.

·         Speaking of Brad Holman, click here for a recording of his song, “The Loyal Fans,” which he sang to the crowd at a Timber Rattlers game.

·         P-C photographer Mike De Sisti took this photo of Andrew, Rachel, Emily and Sarah at a September playoff game (two days after Rachel was born).

·         Here’s Elise and Rachel at a September playoff game.
